    old man and the sea is a human struggle against nature do you agree with this idea ?

      Of course! It's struggle between Nature and Human. Direct meaning is this. But deeply it is a struggle of Man to himself; to servive in life.

    A small boat also play a vital role in the novel "The Old Man and the Sea". What does it symbolise?

    The small boat symbolizes the only base of his life, on which he has put his trust and went for fishing so far in the sea. Man needs a support during life time, the small boat provides this to the old man till end of his life.
